Growing our team with an $18M Series B

Today, I’m excited to announce that we’re taking the next steps in order to grow as a company. Crunchbase has raised $18M in a Series B round led by Mayfield, a firm with a strong investment history in business-facing startups, and we’re announcing the launch of Crunchbase Enterprise.

It’s been a big year for Crunchbase. In addition to becoming a stand-alone company after spinning out of AOL, we’ve enhanced our API offering, launched a mobile iOS app, doubled the size of the team, and launched Crunchbase Pro, helping our users unlock the power of our company data.

With the addition of new capital, Crunchbase is redoubling its focus on expanding the team. Every day, we are honored to work with entrepreneurs and innovators from every corner of the globe. Crunchbase aims to build a team that reflects the diversity of our customers and community.

Each individual at Crunchbase brings their own perspectives, work experiences, lifestyles, and cultures with them. We believe that a more diverse team creates more innovative products, provides better service to our customers, and helps us all grow and learn as individuals.

I want to invite engineers from all backgrounds to text me directly at 415.881.8828 to find out more about joining our team.

Along with announcing our new funding, we are also revealing our new premium package for teams, Crunchbase Enterprise. Crunchbase Enterprise leverages our live data for comprehensive and targeted prospecting, and grants teams access to our API, Excel export, as well as a powerful integration with Salesforce.

By using Crunchbase Enterprise, entrepreneurs, sales reps, analysts, and venture capital partners can identify key market signals with minimal effort. Our live data directs teams to prioritize their efforts and help start their conversations, with detailed profiles placing the right players in front of them at the right time.

We’re not done. Later this year we’ll also be releasing a completely new version of crunchbase.com and launching Crunchbase Marketplace, a new service that brings best-in-class data from our partners into our platform. Marketplace will address the varied data needs of our growing and global customer base.

It has taken more than 3,000 venture partners, a half million contributors, five million annual edits, almost 10 years, and our amazingly talented and diverse team to build the platform our tens of millions of users know and love today. We continue to be motivated by our passion to make data-driven business decisions more accessible, and couldn’t be more excited to show you what we are building next.
