Nominations Open for Inclusion for Impact Awards at SaaStr 2019

For the second year running, PagerDuty is partnering with Crunchbase on the Inclusion for Impact Awards. Our goal is to identify and celebrate the people who made the biggest difference around Inclusion, Diversity, Belonging and Equity in tech in 2018. We are looking for the leaders, movement-starters, thought-leaders, and practitioners who have been the most productive and innovative in bringing change.

All finalists will be invited to our inclusion networking event on Tuesday, February 5, 5:00 – 7:30 pm PT at the SaaStr 2019 conference where the winners will be unveiled during an awards ceremony. The event will provide a unique opportunity for attendees to share and learn what positive and sustainable actions can help promote inclusion within their communities.

Inclusion for Impact Award Categories

The Change Agent

This award recognizes someone who has driven tangible change in all aspects of diversity and equity as an employee within an organization in 2018.  

Being able to make a change in Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity is no small feat. Moreover, it takes a combination of small and big efforts to truly drive sustainable and significant change.

The selection committee will consider the nominees’ trailblazing efforts in one or more of the following areas:

  • Promotion of a diverse and inclusive workplace
  • Demonstrated improvement in the organization’s diversity numbers
  • Commitment to broader technology community through participation in industry initiatives and as an advocate for inclusion, diversity, and equity in the tech community

The Influencer

This award recognizes someone who has demonstrated the ability to drive “outsized” impact by driving Inclusion, Diversity and Equity conversations or programs across the broader tech community.

Inclusion, Diversity and Equity work takes focus, dedication, persistence, passion. However, equally important is the ability to bring others along on the journey to create a more equitable world in tech.  

The selection committee will consider the nominees’ trailblazing efforts in the following areas:

  • Service as a mentor or trusted advisor to colleagues and others
  • Demonstrated commitment to expanding the conversation around multiple dimensions of diversity
  • Leadership within the technology community to drive large-scale programs or change positively impacting Inclusion and Diversity

The Fearless Founder

This award recognizes a founder from an under-represented community in tech who has achieved major milestones for their company.

Founding and building a successful tech company from the ground up is a massive undertaking––but doing this as an underrepresented founder means added hurdles and systemic barriers.

The selection committee will consider the nominees’ trailblazing efforts in one or more of the following areas:

  • Development of an entrepreneurial business environment that challenges the status quo
  • Achievement of significant business milestones in funding and revenue growth
  • Significant product innovation and customer growth

The Inclusion Innovator

This award recognizes the company that has demonstrated a true commitment to inclusion through new and creative actions with tangible results.

Many organizations claim to value inclusion, diversity, and equity, but fail to put their money where their mouths are. The organization that wins this category will have successfully promoted diversity among employees. Additionally, This company displayed a commitment to inclusion through hiring practices and cultural initiatives.

The selection committee will consider the nominees’ trailblazing efforts in one or more of the following areas:

  • Leadership development training and advancement opportunities
  • Hiring practices that encourage diversity
  • Commitment to charitable causes and providing support and resources for underrepresented groups
