We’ve just released the most recent version of the CrunchBase monthly export for July. This month, our community of contributors helped us surpass two more huge milestones as the dataset reached 600k profiles and 75k funding rounds. Despite a slow month for venture capital investors, more than 4.6k funding rounds were added to CrunchBase in July, the most ever in a single month. In addition to the community, we’ve also partnered with data providers like EquityNet to make CrunchBase the most comprehensive dataset of startup activity.
Highlights of the July 2014 Export include:
- Kima Ventures joins 500 Startups and Start-Up Chile among the most active investors in 2014 with 75 funding rounds for the Paris-based seed fund
- Health & Wellness and Cloud Computing broke the $1B YTD funding milestone along with a dozen other CrunchBase categories led by Biotechnology and E-Commerce
- With the $1B funding for Flipkart, Bangalore is among the Top 5 regions for total funding behind the SF Bay, New York, Boston and Beijing
- 202 venture funding rounds in India, 162 rounds for China and 94 rounds for Israeli startups in 2014
The CrunchBase dataset continues to grow at a blistering pace thanks to our community of contributors and members of the CrunchBase Venture Program. We’re publishing this snapshot today which includes all venture funded companies.
