Jared Leto may have kicked off the past week in the celebrity gossip headlines for scandalous photos, but a week later the actor and 30 Seconds to Mars frontman appears to have transformed into a savvy venture capitalist.

After recording both his 6th and 7th venture investments last Tuesday – a $54 million Series C round for marketing intelligence platform Radius and a $13 million Series A for stock investing app Robinhood – Leto now stands poised to join the shortlist of celebrity VCs affiliated with the prestigious Unicorn Club.

Mobile commerce platform Wish is rumored to be raising a Series D at a valuation of over $1 billion which will make it the latest startup to achieve Unicorn status. Leto participated in Wish’s Series C in June, his second late-stage investment alongside Founders Fund.

As amusing as rapper Snoop Dogg’s recent induction into the venture scene may be, the celebrity VC should not be underestimated. Celeb investors have backed the two most highly-valued companies in the Billion Dollar Startup ClubTroy Carter with Uber and Ashton Kutcher with Airbnb.
