Where can I find Crunchbase for Salesforce?

Find the Crunchbase for Salesforce on App Exchange. Please click here to install in a sandbox environment.

How do I install Crunchbase for Salesforce?

1. First, install Crunchbase for Salesforce for admins only.

  • To only give permissions to the Customer’s System administrators, select Install for Admins Only when installing the Crunchbase Integration.
  • Then accept the remote site settings for this package.

Note that those admins can, at any point, give the proper permissions to others. After this is complete, you have installed the package in your environment.

2. Now it is time to complete the configuration with the following items:

  • Follow steps below to assign the Crunchbase Administrator permission to your user.
  • Set the page layouts of the Lead and Account page.
  • Go to Crunchbase App and complete the steps in the Install Wizard.

What are the different permission sets I’m able to assign?

Crunchbase Administrator – Assign this to other administrators that need to manage the Crunchbase app including modifying mappings or changing the schedule of the Account and Lead Enrichment job.
Crunchbase Sales Rep – Assign this permission to any users that needs access to view Crunchbase information on the Account or Lead. Without this permission set, they will not see the Company Information, News, Funding, or Featured People.

How do I get the Crunchbase for Salesforce app to work?

To get the App working, we need to establish a connection to Crunchbase and define a few settings. To do this, find the Install Wizard tab either in the Lightning or Classic view.
Then follow those instructions to complete the following:

1. Connect – Use the API key that was provided to you with your Crunchbase Pro membership to connect to Crunchbase.
2. Enhance – Define the mappings from Crunchbase attributes to fields on the Lead or Account. When new data is retrieved, it will override the values in the target fields on those objects.
3. Schedule – Schedule the enrichment job to regularly update Crunchbase attributes.

These steps are required for the application to function correctly.

How do I modify page layouts in the Salesforce Classic view?

The Salesforce Classic view is most commonly used by customers to manage their data. We have included Visualforce pages for the Lead and Account that can expose data from Crunchbase to the Sales Users.

To get started, go to Setup > Customize > Lead > Page Layouts. Select the Page Layout that you would like to edit. Note that you will have to repeat the following steps for each page layout that you need to modify.

1. First, start by adding the Crunchbase custom fields to the layout. We recommend creating a new section to hold those fields:

2. Then look for the following fields and drag them into this new section.

3. It’s important that each of these fields is set to be read-only. To do this, click on the wrench icon next to each field that does not have a lock next to it. Then select read-only.
4. Next, we provide a custom VisualForce page to show the latest information about a company including News, Funding, and a Featured Team. While editing the layout of your choice, choose the VisualForce pages in the top area.
5) We will want to drag the Crunchbase Lead Detail page onto the layout. We recommend creating a new section that is setup to be one column to show the page correctly. Next drag that page into that section and set the following properties using the wrench icon:

  • Show Scrollbars: True
  • Height: 500px

When complete, your page should look similar this:
This process should be repeated to modify the Layouts for the Account as well. It will have to be repeated for each layout on the Account you want to modify as well.

How do I set page layouts up in the Lightning Page?

If your Org hasn’t enabled lightening before, then proceed with these steps:
Before you get started, you must enable the My Domain feature. To do this go to
Setup > Company Settings > My Domain and then follow the steps in the wizard. If you skip these steps, then the Crunchbase Lightning components will not be available to be added to the Lightning Page.
